Employee Focus- Dawn Earnshaw, Customer Service Ambassador

·What is your name?

Dawn Earnshaw

·What was working background before AAG?

I worked as a Travel Agent from leaving college (a trainee to begin with, making the tea and arranging the travel brochures), and worked my way up to Assistant Manager of Business Travel which focused on arranging visas, flights and hotels for business travellers.  I left there to become a Mum and housewife.

·What is your position at AAG?

I was a Credit Controller in the Finance department, but have just moved to a brand new role for myself and the company which is customer service based.  I am now a Customer Service Ambassador.

·How long have you been at AAG? And can you tell us some of the experiences throughout this journey?

I have been with AAG for 7 ½ years, starting with very little credit control experience but with guidance from a great team, have learnt a lot about what happens within a Finance department.  I would like to think that I have had a little bit of experience in all the departments in AAG, I have tried my hand at Sales (this was very hard, and needs a very thick skin for the rejections).  My engineering experience is limited (turn it off and turn it back on again), but I think I have learnt more than I realise from the Service Desk Team.

·What are your hobbies/ what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I am a film buff, I love going to the cinema with my 2 boys, especially to watch the Marvel films.  The new Avengers movie is next on the list which will be a 3D IMAX experience.  I don’t really have any exciting hobbies as such but when the weather is nice I like to get out in the garden.

·What is the most interesting thing about you?

I was lucky enough to sail on the QE2 before she was decommissioned.

·What is your proudest moment to date?

The birth of both of my children, James and Will.

·If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Starter of prawn cocktail, main of lamb shank, dessert of crème brulee followed by cheese and biscuits.  A nice Chablis to wash it all down.

·What is your favourite sport? And why?

Watching rugby, the reason being men in shorts.
