Employee Focus: Mark Chadburn, Senior Technical Consultant

·What is your name?

Mark David Chadburn

·What is your working background before AAG?

I worked for Sheffield City Council / Civica in schools in roles ranging from Technician to IT Strategic Manager, supporting and influencing the IT systems used from primary through secondary.

·What is your position at AAG?

Senior Technical Consultant

·How long have you been at AAG? And can you tell us some of the experiences throughout this journey?

I have worked at AAG for 3 years and have been involved in the design and implementation of solutions ranging from new start-ups with a few users opting for cloud based servers, to 250 user businesses with on premise high availability systems to maximise uptime. Whilst at AAG I have worked on the service catalogue introducing and assessing new products to add to our offerings for customers. I support the sales team as well as the engineering department and act as a bridge between the two where necessary.

·What are your hobbies/ what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time I like to spend time with my family, relaxing in the house or taking in the atmosphere and sights of other cities - life is short and we are trying to experience as much as we can together whilst we are all still together. I like to go the gym at least 4 times a week, I am not getting any younger and want to keep healthy.  My main hobby is mountain biking, I love to get out into the hills of Sheffield.  I particularly love night cycling taking in some rocky downhill at speed.

·What is the most interesting thing about you?

After much thought I can only say that I am not interesting. Sorry.

·What is your proudest moment to date?

There are many to do with my wife and kids, I can’t prioritise a single one as they have all meant so much to me.

·If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

It would have to be a mixed kebab on garlic bread with chilli sauce and garlic mayo, this is why I have to go to the gym so often.

·What is your favourite sport? And why?

I am not into watching sport at all but I love to mountain bike with friends.  I love bouncing from rock to rock on a descent like ”The Beast” at Ladybower wondering if I will make it to the bottom with all my limbs in-tact.

·Is there anything we haven’t covered that we should know about you?

Not really, I am a very happy family man with simple tastes.  I love to help other people wherever I can which is reflected at home, with friends and at work.
