Tips to get you through a Monday

We dread it coming around and we’re happy to see it go. Friday seems so far away and that mountain of paperwork on your desk seems to be bigger than the bags under your eyes (if that’s possible). Luckily for you, we want to put an end to how you feel on a stereotypical Monday.

So here are our top 10 tips on getting through that hard first day back:

1.     Eat Breakfast

It may sound cliché, however, it is the most important meal of the day. Make Monday your cheat day and have pizza for breakfast. That’s a sure way to get you in the mood for Monday!

2.     Don’t fall back to sleep

Falling back to sleep is a sure way to make your Monday that little bit harder. Once your body is awake, make sure your mind is. Do some sort of activity, whether it be mental or physical, that will ensure you stay awake for the rest of the day.

3.     Be productive on your commute

Your commute may seem like the most exhausting and daunting part of your entire day. Being ‘productive’ doesn’t have to mean anything business. If it’s public transport you’re using, start that box set you’ve been putting off, listen to a new album that has just been released, listen to an audiobook- it can be anything, the point is don’t do any form of work on your commute, there’ll be plenty of time for that later on.

4.     Be kind

You might think that Monday means you get to be grumpy, which it does, however being kind can make somebody’s day and it can make you feel better.

5.     Wear a new outfit

Wearing a new outfit can make you feel better in yourself and more confident. So even if you don’t feel good to start with, looking better will give off the impression that you are.

6.     Talk to people

Tell people about your plans for the weekend ahead. It may seem so long away but it gets both you and your colleagues in the mood and raring to go for the rest of the week.

7.     Have regular breaks

If you cut up your day into 3-4 breaks, it will seem a lot less like there is masses and masses of work to do and you can take it all within your stride.

8.     Identify what the issue with Monday is

What is the issue with Monday? Why do you hate it so much? Getting up early is something we all hate, but we all have to deal with it. Is there something else that makes you hate Mondays? If so, do yourself a favour and sort it out!

9.     Get enough sleep

Sleep is a crucial part of everybody’s day to day life. Go to bed early Sunday night to make sure you feel as good as possible. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

10. Even though it is difficult, stay positive!

Positivity is something that is hard to come by. It can be easily spread so make somebody’s day and be happy!

In conclusion, it doesn’t take much to feel better on Monday. Just put in that little bit of extra effort and you’ll be feeling all the better for it.
