It is easy to have a list of values but how does a company ensure that these values are right for their business when a business continually evolves? We hadn’t assessed our values for some time to see if they were still relevant. So, at our last company event we created teams that looked at our current values. Which values were still important to them and were meaningful to them as a group. We also asked them to consider new values. From here our leadership team worked as a group to analyse all the responses and it was clear that we did need to reassess them.
It was really important for us to have this feedback from everyone. We look to encourage a culture where everyone’s opinion is valued and creativity is promoted. Everyone has a key role to play at AAG and pride in our environment and work is incredibly important to us all. How do we give everyone the platform to be the very best they can be?
Our new values say everything about what AAG is and what it strives to achieve. They give us a sense of cause and a sense of belonging. At AAG we are not about being the biggest or the best but we believe in creating opportunity, always improving, supporting each other, realising our mistakes and not being frightened to own up to them. We are constantly looking at ways to improve. I truly believe our new values give us all that common purpose.
My personal favourite is “TOGETHERNESS”. It truly defines what is important to AAG from both a client and a colleague’s perspective.
